A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Consultant to work as an Electrical Design Engineer (Senior Staff) for their offshore wind farm project.
This is a 4-month freelance role to start approx. 8th January 2018 up until with the possibility of extending further thereafter. This is a 5-day working week, 8 hrs per day. Travelling in the UK should be expected. The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for electrical system design, studies and grid connection.
Responsibilities:
- Provision of overall electrical system design, modelling and simulation studies
- Grid code compliance
- Ensure that the project is on time on quality and within scope and budget
- Comply with the client's guidelines and current standards, ISO9001 requirement as well as local requirements
- Ensure that the best technical practices are implemented
- Ensure hand-over of agreed documentation to O&M and OFTO
- To comply with and enforce the clients HSE requirements
Tasks:
- Ensure technical/economical optimisation of electrical system and array and that all relevant studies are carried out
- Prepare electrical system design reports and verification of grid code compliance
- To prepare & review technical documents
- To continuously report progress, variation and challenges to the electrical project manager and provide input to various reports
- Prepare necessary data and compliance documentation required by the TSO/DNO, OFTO and others
- To provide necessary information for compliance test and ensure feedback from test and commissioning into system design
- MSc EE degree or equivalent experience
- Relevant experience of work experience with electrical wind farm design and/or power system analysis
- Must have worked in project Matrix organisation
- Strong analytic approach and negotiation skills
