Electronic Engineer (Maintenance & Controls)

An Electronic Engineer with Maintenance & Controls experience is required to work on a twelve-month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in Glasgow.

This is a 12-week contract with a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Electronic Engineer (Maintenance & Controls) contract role

To be hands-on with an electrical/electronic background, whilst seeking support from other disciplines in areas out of their expertise/experience.

  • Working in a manufacturing high volume manufacturing environment
  • Electrical maintenance of production machinery
  • Installation of wiring on controls
  • Ability to deal closely with customers and respond to their requirements.
  • Able to prioritise own workload to achieve affective results.
  • Aptitude to learn and develop new skills.
  • Adherence to Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) requirements of the site and promoting a positive safety culture eg by actively monitoring and improving safety performance.
  • Adherence to quality standards within the relevant process areas to satisfy site needs and requirements at all times.
  • To support the drive for a high performance culture by actively ensuring that standards are met in areas such as housekeeping, materials management and taking responsibility for highlighting any concerns to the relevant supervisor.

Key skills required for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Controls)

  • Competent in understanding electronic control systems.
  • Experience in working in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Strong Interpersonal/Team Management Skills.
  • Awareness of Continuous Improvement Tools.
  • Capable of maintaining appropriate standards.

Ideal/Desirable:

  • ESM Awareness or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of Lean principles.
  • Competent in Data Capture and SAP.
