Middleware Engineer (Kafka)
We are currently seeking an Middleware Engineer with Kafka expertise for a leading financial client in Europe. You will be working in a progressive environment in a stable 12 months' contract in Amsterdam, Netherlands paying an excellent rate. (Possible extensions).
You love technology and are curious about the trends and developments in your area of expertise. You are able to develop efficient and maintainable code with the right balance between solving the problem at hand and not over-engineering your solution.
With your understanding of operations and platform engineering you know how to satisfy the needs of our customers. You enjoy educating yourself and others and are able to perform on-the-job coaching.
The ideal Middleware Engineer (Kafka) will have 75% of the following experience:
* Professional and intellectual ability at bachelor level
* Knowledge of Kafka is mandatory
* Strong conceptual understanding of the big picture is preferred
* Able to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
* Experienced with Agile development & Scrum
* Version Management, GIT, Continuous Integration
* Knowledge of Java and Web API's
* Comfortable with collaboration and open communication
* Focused on delivering quality above quantity
* Platform engineering/Total stack experience is hugely beneficial (eg Linux, Puppet, Python, Scripting, )
* Knowledge of databases is preferred
* Ability to adopt and test new features
* Knowledge sharing will be expected
* Excellent team player
* Passion for Back End technology
* Attention to details
