Description
Financial analyst, Accountant, Financial Controller. Finance assistant required for major corporate (can be based in Germany or London)
You will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and administrative support for the clients Payment Gateway Services in Germany (or London) and assisting the Financial Manager in all other related matters.
Key Responsibilities/Tasks
Accounting and Financial Controls
- Reviewing and updating accounts in Oracle Financials
- Assisting Deloitte with Month End Close activities
- Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform a monthly analysis of the creditors and accruals
- Liaising with external auditors and provision of requested audit support
Accounts Receivable
- Review monthly aging prepared by Deloitte
- Monitor and control of the dunning process - send payment demand to customers, assign to debt collection agency, cancellation of service
- Provision of monthly Billing information to Deloitte
Accounts Payable
- Review invoices for validity and accuracy
- Assist with the creation of PO's in Oracle and the transition of this function to Business Owners
- Online banking payment setup
- Provide Deloitte with copies and explanations of all invoices paid
Cash Management/Treasury
- Apply weekly bank receipts to customer accounts (not automatically assigned)
- Return funds back to origin when receipt cannot be matched to open items
- Contact person with bank for local German bank accounts
- Backup signatory for payment preparation/release
Tax
- Assistance to Deloitte for compilation and submission of Income Tax returns
- Assistance to Ernst & Young for compilation and submission of VAT returns
- Ensure monthly VAT and quarterly taxes are paid by due date
Administrative
- Daily review of post for Finance/Tax related communications
- Scanning and retention of manual invoices/statements
- Ongoing review of use of suppliers.
- Communications to customers and suppliers i.r.o. name, address and service changes
- Daily monitoring of electronic mailbox to respond to customers/suppliers and escalate queries as required
- Other ad-hoc duties as may be required from time to time
Experience/Knowledge Required
- Relevant formal German accounting/tax related qualification
- Fluent German language skills
Technical Skills
- Computer skills - MS Excel and MS Word - Intermediate
- Level of Numeracy - Advanced
- Level of Communication Skills - Advanced - both verbally and in writing
