Description

Procurement Specialist required for my government client in Coventry.

6 months, £Market rate and Jan 2018 start.

A Procurement Specialist is required to deliver a significant and time critical public sector procurement exercise. Responsible for completing operational activities/tasks related to writing specifications, publishing the tender, responding to queries, evaluating responses and sending feedback to applicants. The individual will also be accountable for providing assurance of compliance with procurement regulation and that procurement outcomes are robust and any risks, mitigated.

Requirements

  • Ideally MCIPS qualified with at least 5 years' experience in a procurement role
  • Knowledge and experience in managing procurement processes using the Crown Commercial Service G-Cloud Framework Agreement and other specialist frameworks
  • Capable of writing bid specifications and publishing tenders, evaluating responses and managing feedback to applicants
  • Experience of working with E-procurement tools and working within a team, managing and prioritising activities/tasks on time due to working to tight timescales
  • Experience of communicating with customers electronically, ensuring correspondence is professional and meets the expectations of the customer
  • Current knowledge on EU Procurement legislation including the light-touch regime
  • Strong communication and engagement skills, clarifying goals and strategies

Desirable

  • Demonstrable experience in leading and delivering activities for large scale procurement exercises
  • Demonstrable experience in procuring services relating to support services and contact centre delivery
