Our client are a large local government organisation and are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team. This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right candidate. Our client is looking for someone who can come on board and support an effective accounting service in accordance with statutory requirements and policies.
The successful applicant will identify, analyse and report on financial accounting of initiatives and projects as well as new accounting and statutory requirements and recommend and develop systems to meet requirements. You will also be tasked with preparing working papers to support the preparation end of year accounts and subsidiary records and statements in accordance with accounting requirements as well as preparing working papers to ensure audit of statements of accounts are supported through the provision of accurate, well-presented and timely information. The successful applicant will maintain financial aspects of the Fixed Assets Register ensuring values of assets and depreciation are properly calculated and reflected in the accounts.
To be considered for this role you will be an experienced Financial Accountant who is CCAB qualified and have extensive government experience also. It is also important that you have account preparation and closedown experience.
