Description

The purpose of this role is to manage the day to day retail operation, maximising profit from our in-flight business, and providing a modern, relevant and world class retail experience for our customers. The aim is to increase sales/margin and drive down costs through a comprehensive retail strategy, use of data analytics and the continuous improvement of systems and operations.

Your specific duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the retail business strategy that maximises profits by driving sales and controlling costs.
  • Identify opportunities to drive revenue or reduce cost in the joint P&L.
  • Monitor daily/weekly performance, completing ad hoc analysis and working on action plans where necessary.
  • Ensure all reporting/data requirements for cabin services are met to drive inflight sales, working with BI/data teams to deliver.
  • Constantly improve the inflight range, by maintaining a close relationship with our retail supplier, monitoring product performance, maintaining knowledge of the market place, competitors and trends to ensure a cutting edge strategy.
  • Increase awareness of the inflight retail offering and promotional activity though pre-flight and in-flight marketing, following up on marketing and PR opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cabin services to ensure a highly engaged sales force to maximise sales and to drive success of new initiatives, actioning feedback where applicable.
  • Ensure project delivery of prioritised initiatives (eg, future ePos development, duty free, pre-pay, etc)
  • Influence inflight operations team and supplier partner to ensure the supply chain is as efficient as possible, identifying efficiency opportunities for the joint P&L.
  • Ongoing supplier management to ensure service levels are maintained, to ensure compliance vs. contract and to ensure supplier teams are driving forward agreed strategic agendas (eg, shrink, waste, etc)
  • Action escalated queries relating to product and customer, including arising product issues, PR queries and customer refund or complaint escalations.

In order to be considered for this role you will need to have the following skills and/or experience:

  • Previous experience in a Commercial Manager, ideally within Inflight retail or working in a cabin services environment.
  • Commercially astute, able to drive revenue and minimise costs.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, organisational, stakeholder engagement and tracking skills.
  • A delivery focus and able to work well under pressure.
  • Equally effective working independently or as part of a team.
  • Relationship builder, with excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Proactive communicator.
  • Confident use of IT (Outlook, Excel, PPT, Word)
  • Customer focused.
  • Creative problem solver
