Large Power station based in Kent need an experienced Outage Planner/Scheduler for the outage works project starting in January 2018
This role will be pivotal to the efficient execution of Outage works.
Responsible for the outage planning co-ordination and integration of the APP and C Inspection outage during 2018 to ensure the safe operation, engineering health, integrity and performance of the unit asset whilst maximising resource utilisation.
Key Activities
Development and implementation of a central outage planning function to ensure prioritisation and efficient execution of all works across the outage.
Responsibility covers full breadth of outage activities across all departments and disciplines (Safety, Environment, Operations, Engineering).
Ensure clarity of communication of works planning to ensure works are undertaken as efficiently as possible.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement through regular review cycles and implementation of lesson's learned
Measure and report on planning process effectiveness against agreed KPI's.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and delivery of added value.
Ensure wider communication of improvement measures.
Identify Best Practice from external sources and develop plans for implementation
Leadership of Planning activities and processes across the fleet
Be an advocate for continuous improvement and implementation of best practice.
Main responsibilities of role
Review of planning schedules with communication and implementation of changes arising from review cycles
Plan and integrate planned works within outage
Expert knowledge of SAP GWOS to support other users
Presenting feedback to the Outage team
Key skill requirements
Essentials
A minimum HNC or equivalent qualification in a related Engineering discipline.
Experience in the use of Prometheus Graphical Work Order Scheduler (GWOS). Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project Planning Software desirable. knowledge of key PC based computer systems
Understanding of Power Station operations.
Experience of large scale projects and Power station Outage works.
An understanding of health and safety management.
Effective planning and organising skills to include prioritising of maintenance, resource management
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to give clear instructions/guidance to team members
An ability to analyse complex problems by isolating key issues, evaluating relevant data and drawing appropriate conclusions reflecting in the work schedule/programme.
Good interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
The confidence to challenge established practices, suggesting imaginative solutions to problem
