Description

  • Site: Energy From Waste Plant, Yorkshire.
  • Length of contract: 5 months with future possibilities.
  • Date candidate should be able to start on this date: ASAP -latest 1. February.
  • Other specific requirements: Need knowledge of boiler but good generalist in general, however, specialists will be on site.
  • Excellent management skills.

Specific responsibilities and obligations for Commissioning Manager:

As Commissioning Manager, you will become responsible for international commissioning projects. You will be based at construction sites and be responsible for the commissioning phase of Turnkey projects (EPC projects). This means, for example, that you will be leading and managing a commissioning team of 4-7 employees and ensure commissioning is progressing in alignment with strategies, schedules and client commissioning manual. This role also includes responsibility for the onsite cooperation between the client, collaborators, suppliers, etc.

Another important part of the role is to lead commissioning during the cold and hot tests, as well as to take part in tasks such as drying of refractory, steam blowing, adjustments and trial runs. In addition, you will be instructing and training operational staff and preparing operational documentation.

As Commissioning Manager you will need to play an integral role in the commissioning of this energy from waste plant by making important decisions. You'll need to oversee several tasks at any one time and be able to keep to schedule.

A Technical background, experience with commissioning and solid English skills are required, as well as:

  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Engineering.
  • 5 years experience from Waste to Energy, Biomass, Gasification or Power Generation.
  • Must have experience in turnkey projects and solid experience in boiler and combustion technology.
  • You are an experienced IT user and you speak and write English effortlessly.
  • You have experience in leadership and Project Management from an equivalent position with commissioning tasks.
