Chartered Accountant - Cost, Balance Sheet and Compliance experience
Based in Nottingham
Overview of Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Cost, Balance Sheet and Compliance section of my Clients Accounting and Control team, within a complex, fast paced and exciting Region/Team. The team consists of 27 people and is spread across eight countries, with the team members working closely with local FDs, BPs and FP&A teams, local and central Controllers and with the Shared Services Centre.
Key Responsibilities/Outputs:
- Ensure a strong and effective internal control and governance framework is in place which financial data is complete, accurate and all transactions are consistent with My clients accounting policies and IFRS/local reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements in the local market and ensure compliance with all Group Accounting standards.
- Calculate statutory recharges of costs across Group entities, ensuring compliance with Transfer Pricing Legislation.
- Ensure compliance with all local tax legislation or related legislation, specific to the in-country business, including responsibility for all statutory processes
- Lead and manage of external audits.
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across all aspects of the financial processes
- Understand business performance and forecast operating cash flows
- Advise on complex accounting matters, such as hive ups of trade and assets.
- Assist with other ad hoc requests from your manager
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential
- 3-4 years accounting experience
- Chartered Accountant qualification
- Ability to influence stakeholders
- Strong relationship builder
- Ability to be proactive and work independently, with the skill to adapt and drive change where necessary
- Problem solving skills
- Experience working with IFRS would be highly advantageous
Preferred Background
- Experience in a global, Matrix organisation
- Knowledge of systems such as Oracle, Hyperion and OBIEE
- Strong Excel skills is a bonus but not essential
- Experience working with big 4 audit firms
- Experience working in a multinational company
