- BUSINESS FACING PROJECT EXPERIENCE Business facing communication skills: ask the right questions about business processes in order to come to system requirements.
- Explain the functional design to a business audience.
- Experience in project work in a team, work against a project plan with milestones.
- Ability to align solution design concept between the product owner, functional, technical and integrating teams.
- Ability to work independently on tasks and report on ETC. High sense of compliance
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or MIS. A Master's Degree is preferred.
- Lean Thinking/Six Sigma educated; CBAP/CCBA certification; PMP or ITIL certification is a plus
- Over 8 years of experience as a business analyst in a large global organization, preferably in healthcare, life sciences or pharmaceuticals
- 5 years of business analysis/process improvement
Overview:
The primary interface with the business users to analyze business needs, identify and prioritize requirements. Lead the translation of business requirements into system changes/functional specifications and determining the to-be solution (using appropriate tools and models). The Senior requirement specialist is an active participant in all phases of the project life cycle and will be required to work closely with a variety of internal and external business partners.
Key responsibilities and activities
- Lead business analysis utilizing required tasks and techniques in large projects with variety of complex scenarios
- Able to build and manage stakeholder relationships which may include: business and IT leadership, business partners, users, vendors, customers, project team members and management leaders
- Work with the product manager or project sponsor to document the product's vision and the project's scope
- Identifies and communicates risks and issues that may require changes to plans or scope
- Facilitate workshops to elicit requirements using interviews, documents, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis and/or wireframes/low fidelity visualization
- Conducts scenario visualization/White boarding sessions with stakeholders in requirement scope definition and confirmation
- Document, manage and execute requirement plans and provide guidance to delivery teams
- Ensures that all requirements support the delivery of business value, fulfills goals and objectives, and meets a stakeholder need, assesses solution proposals and demonstrate which proposal will be most effective
- Understands overall business structure, strategy and impact on work efforts.
- Understands business architecture and can assess capability gaps and can identify and propose possible solution approach
- Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards
- Establish and implement effective requirements practices, including use and continuous improvement of a requirements process. Assist with the development of the organization's requirements engineering policies, procedures, and tools
- Train, mentor and coach project stakeholders and less senior requirement specialists.
