Electrical Design Engineer

Cheltenham

12 Months contract

Role Summary:

  • Working as part of Electrical design team supporting product Verification and design updates for the Electrical Load Management System.
  • Must liaise with other design teams to understand change impact and work to identify the best implementation and ensure this is communicated correctly.
  • Candidate will be required to design and update Electrical Wiring Design data along with supporting technical documentation and integration activities.

Key Activities:

  • Editing and Processing of GE Aviation documentation and data using generic and GE Aviation business tools.
  • Working with the businessPTC Windchill tool to:
    • Populate placeholders.
    • Raise Promotion requests.
    • Raise Engineering Change Requests (ECR).
    • Expedite Reviews and Approvals.
  • Following the GE Aviation business processes.
  • Engaging with, and reporting to the Engineering Project Managers.

Essential responsibilities:

  • The ownership of the assigned tasks to completion.
  • Update of designs within GE Aviation ECAD Tools.
  • Interaction and engagement with the GE Aviation Change Management Organisation on document/drawing/data lodging, releases and issues.
  • Interaction and engagement with the GE Aviation Business Tool service/support teams
  • Facilitating periodic team meetings, and the recording and lodging of meeting minutes
  • Maintaining project progress trackers (Spreadsheets)
  • Editing documentation and data from written notes and memorandums

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering background ideally within the Aviation Industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of EWIS regulations
  • Proficient with Electrical CAD Tools ideally Mentor Capital
  • Competent in the use of MS Word/Excel/Power-Point/Office and PDF tools.
  • Experience of PTC Windchill is preferred, but not essential as training will be given.
  • Experience of ITAR data Compliance Tagging is preferred, but not essential as training will be given.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
