Vivace is an exciting new company set up to in 2017 create a novel innovation economy called the 'Accelerated Capability Environment' (ACE) for the UK Government.

Our Customer is primarily the UK Home Office and the objective of Vivace is to create the collaboration vehicle for technology leaders of all sizes from across the UK to share, develop and deploy ideas that keep UK plc one step ahead of its operational threats to protect and save lives.

We work hand in hand with our Customers liaison team (called the ACE Liaison Team) to identify opportunities and rapidly develop solutions to enable law enforcement agencies to make the digital world a better, safer place for all.

Purpose:

This role sits within the MET who are responsible for attracting and engaging the brightest and best minds across industry and academia to create leading edge solutions to the UK's digital security challenges.

The events manager's primary role will be designing and delivering an events program that surprises and delights our community and enhances the experience of collaborating with us.

We are looking for an organised, dynamic, creative events manager with a proven track record of planning and executing on a diverse range of customer led experiential events.

You will be a strong all-rounder capable of running engaging and memorable events across the physical and digital domains that really connect with our community regardless of the channel type. Whilst not essential for this role, an understanding of our customers, end users and the associated industry and their drivers would obviously be an advantage.

In return you will have control of a significant events budget, a high degree of autonomy, flexible working hours and a great work environment in our vibrant Wework offices on the South Bank.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for curating a monthly programme of creative, on brand events and quarterly major engagement events for our community members with the goal of engaging and retaining existing members and attracting the brightest and best new members
  • Managing an up to date database of external events and their attendees
  • Working with MET and collaborating with the ACE Liaison team to ensure event programming is always representative of our communities and customers priorities
  • Strong commercial and budget management skills to ensure maximum value for money
  • Creating new ways for our community members to engage with ACE, our "Ideas Factory" and communities of practice
  • Working with the marketing team to promote and publicise the events programme to relevant audiences through innovative means, from social media to press
  • Tracking event attendance and satisfaction and reporting monthly on these event metrics.
  • Working with the MET to identify key conferences and events that they should attend

Skills & Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Degree in marketing, event management or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' experience in events management, with a focus on creative events programming and execution
  • Proven ability to track a full range of events for single market type/customer group.
  • Track record of successful event management and event marketing in a complex organisation, including development of event plans and an implementation.
  • Proven ability to run successful events across multiple channels with strong digital communications and events capabilities
  • Event industry knowledge and network; In possession of a 'black book' of events industry contacts to facilitate diverse event programming
  • Ability to coordinate many customers' and individuals' deadlines for the overall event needs
  • Tried and tested project management skills; experience of managing multiple projects with an eye for detail
  • An engaging and persuasive communication style, credible and comfortable in working with C-Suite or ministerial level members.
  • Excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Worked in a Defence or Security environment
  • Understands the operation environment of security and law enforcement agencies
  • An understanding of the digital technology landscape and key events for: IoT, Big data, Internet Connection Records, 5G etc.
  • Practical knowledge of building communities of interest
