IT Project Manager (Agile)
Dunwoody, GA
12 month contract

Responsible for managing large complex projects, often crossing multiple development groups, in accordance with the Project Lifecycle Methodology including the project management of business areas, data center, development, and/or global network activities to support the successful implementation of new applications and systems based on business and customer objectives. Project management includes the application of methodology & standards, knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations for a project. Involves balancing competing demands such as scope, time, cost, and quality, stakeholders with differing needs, expectations, identified requirements (needs) and unidentified requirements (expectations).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - (Key Activities)

* Manage and monitor enterprise systems and business applications projects. Prepare internal management reports recapping the utilization of resources, prepare project plans and review performance against committed schedules and budgets.
* Interface with application development, global networks, Operations, account management, other IT organizations, and external vendors to prepare project requirements, planning and provisioning activities, implementation and closure of project initiatives.
* Develop integrated baseline project plans applying estimating models, identify resources and skills required, document estimating assumptions, refine plans and manage performance against them
* Recommend best solutions based on understanding of business issues
* Provide task-based schedule and cost forecasts and assist in assessing risk-based provisions
* Capture and track program metrics and perform analysis
* Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk
* Clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to immediate manager where required
* Manage client expectations, anticipate operational and tactical risks and track them
* Document and archive project activities, deliverables, tools and findings for future projects
* Develop or modify processes, policies, and procedures to facilitate the working relationship between IT and its business functions.

Experience -

* 5+ years managing IT projects (agile)
* 2+ years managing external vendors and/or partners
* Rally tool experience, user story tool knowledge
* Waterfall experience and ability to be flexible in working cross
* App Dev PM related experience as it relates to, prefer Web/Mobile projects.
* Cross-functional PM related experience within different departments

Technical Skills and Competencies

* Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.
* Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing and explaining project information and status to clients, vendors, senior management and staff.
* Ability to develop and report on project plans, estimates, and metrics, Experience with tools such as Clarity and Sharepoint are a plus but not required
* Experience should include as many of the following areas as possible: SOA, Client Server hardware/software, Hardware/Software deployment, Application Development, Change Management, Disaster Recovery, Production Support, Vendor management
* Demonstrated knowledge of SDLC (Agile and Waterfall), process creation and implementation, and quality management.
* Ability to apply analytical thinking and creative problem-solving to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis
* Hospitality and Payment systems experience desired.
