Electrical Engineer - Aviation Sustainment Team

£35 per hour - possibly negotiable

The Sustainment Engineering team provide through-life expertise and support for aviation products and components. They are responsible for the resolution of engineering, process, and test issues maximising production yield in order to satisfy the needs of our customers. They are the product focal for obsolescence resolution, design change and improvements.

As an Electrical Sustainment Engineer you will utilise your experience and expertise to support the production of aviation products to satisfy our customer requirements. You will work within a small team of engineers to resolve engineering/design issues to support a range of products. You will own technical elements of product support, including root cause analysis and corrective action, design change, and obsolescence resolution.

Key Activities

  • Fault diagnosis of failing electronics modules and units down to component level.
  • Provide root cause analysis and corrective action resulting from FRACAS activities (Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System)
  • Responsible for execution of design change for products within the team portfolios, including changes to technical documentation, drawings, bills of materials, specifications, etc,
  • Provide support to design and process improvements
  • Develop solutions to technical problems, including support to production, field repairs, and component obsolescence
  • Drive down the cost of production through the generation and execution of process improvement and material cost reduction initiatives
  • Contribute to the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure product engineering lessons learnt are fed back into development programs
  • Ensuring compliance with mandatory regulations, standards and company processes
