Job Description

Our client is seeking technical project manager to be responsible for managing critical IT projects.

Core Functions:

  • Manages scope, schedule and quality of multiple projects and IT initiatives.
  • Manages time constraints and deliverables based on project/release schedule.
  • Coordinates IT activities representing the Department's best interests.
  • Ensures correct business functionality, requirements, and industry standards are addressed within the computer application.
  • Develops detailed business user requirements, system documentation, and workflow procedures.
  • Oversees UAT activities, report on status and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Facilitates joint application development (JAD) sessions to ensure vendor understanding of the business requirements and to provide documentation of such.
  • Reports status to the Executive team and stakeholders.
  • Interacts with other agency executive to ensure system requirements are adequately documented and deliverables are met.
  • Fosters a strong working relationship and communication level with assigned project teams, including client's management, program staff and other various stakeholders in local and state government.

Required Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field, preferably business administration or information technology
  • 8+ years of related work experience
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience working on multiple initiatives on tight time frames with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
  • Exceptional facilitating skills in JAD sessions and requirements gathering meetings.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly understand and translate business needs as expressed by stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly learn and communicate new technologies and requirements to technical, non-technical, and management audiences.
  • Ability to accept direction, editing, and constructive criticism of work products.
  • Must be logical, analytical, and detail-oriented.
