Your tasks:
- Manage all department contract-related activities (contract awarding, contract negotiation, drafting and signature, as well as contract monitoring including renewals, amendments, and termination) and assist in procurement activities such as bid invitations and evaluations
- Act as focal point in the department for all contract management administrative activities
- Centralize reporting of contract information
- Ensure timely engagements and use of appropriate legal instruments
- Work closely with and act as focal point for the Legal department for all contract management related activities; review contracts before they are submitted for legal review
- Mentor and assist other colleagues in procurement, contract and vendor management activities; reinforce best practices
- Work with other staff in assessing cost saving efforts across projects and suppliers; make recommendations; take initiative in re-negotiating contract terms
- Support other colleagues in contract negotiations with suppliers, as required
- Actively participate in and lead the implementation of requirements in the new CLM (Contract Lifecyle Management) tool
- Document internal processes for contract management; identify areas for improvement, make recommendations and communicate changes to the department and external stakeholders, as necessary
Your qualifications
- Profound contract management experience, preferably working with and negotiating complex contracts and pricing structures for IT hardware, software, and services
- Highly skilled in developing Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs)
- Demonstrated experience in working with legal agreements, including, but not limited to: NDA, MSA, EULA, SOWs and other agreements routinely used in the contracts management sector
- Proficiency in negotiating favourable terms for service levels, pricing, liability, proprietary rights and security
- Excellent problem solving capabilities and out-of-the-box thinking to ensure forward movement in the contract negotiations process
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
- Effective in creating and delivering presentations to staff and customers
- Skilled at working with and influencing teams in contract management best-practices
- Energetic self-starter who is able take ownership and work both autonomously and in a team environment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint is required; SharePoint desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, finance or other business related field; Masters or MBA a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French (fluency in one of the two languages and highly proficient in the other)
