Description
Cognos 8 Data Warehouse Reporting Specialist with strong Tableau experience is required by leading global financial organization based in London for an initial 6 month contract.
Cognos 8 DWH Reporting Specialist responsibilities:
Take responsibility for design and delivery of reports in Cognos and where relevant, Tableau, including providing advice on methods and approaches
Capture user reporting requirements and advise on the logical design of reports to ensure consistency and accuracy
Undertake comprehensive user acceptance testing to ensure that the reports developed during the assignment meet the needs of their users
To the extent possible, highlight other IT related needs identified during the assignment (eg data capture and integrity) to maximise the effectiveness of Cognos/Tableau reports
Develop, implement and adhere to best practice development design and change control standards to ensure support effort is kept to a minimum.
Maintain overall design integrity for all solutions and ensure that they are either ratified internally by the Data Warehouse Architect or agreed upon collaboratively to make sure all strategic objectives are met.
Maintain relevant perspectives on Data warehouse and Business Intelligence tools, technologies, development and methodologies to ensure the business is using the best available tools
Train/cross train team members and end users in Cognos and where relevant, Tableau, either in support of, or for direct use via self-service reporting.
