The Head of Agile Development is a crucial role to ensure that the organisations capabilities are enhanced by an innovative and modern approach to systems development. More importantly the organisation is looking to embrace an innovative DevOps culture using a combination of design thinking and agile methods so it is essential that the Head of Agile development has a strong track record in implementing these approaches to traditional development teams.
The successful Head of IT Agile Development will:
- Be responsible creating an agile culture for execution of the development strategy
- Be familiar with many approaches to Agile, EA, Design Thinking and Systems Thinking
- Advise and coach on all matters relating to the development and execution of the systems roadmap
- Be commercially aware in shaping and implementing the agile and design thinking capability
- Own the execution of end to end to solutions
- Work closely with technology partners to continuously improve service
- Have experience and familiarity in designing and implementing killer applications that compliment CRM, ERP, Sales and Order Management across a range of applications from SAP to Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics
- Be accountable for capturing future requirements, identify solution and present recommendation and justification
- Work closely with the Information Security Manager to ensure technical controls are in place and that appropriate new technologies are identified and implemented
- Ensure that appropriate records and documentation are maintained
Most importantly, demonstrable experience of being able to coach and mentor an entire organisation to work together in design thinking and agile approached to deliver a systems roadmap and strategy that delivers end results is crucial.
