Category Manager - 6 months - Glasgow

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Category Manager to work in a public sector organisation. You will conduct client department spend and demand reviews. Create supplier market intelligence reports and interrogate supplier management information to ensure that the tenders being developed will produce maximum value for the council.

Essential Skills:

  • Have experience of people, procurement and resource management including performance management in a procurement environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply relevant EU and Public Procurement legislation and processes.
  • Possess well developed assessment and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage, coach and challenge staff on a day to day basis
  • Ability to exert influence in ensuring specifications or client service requirements are met.
  • Knowledge of Procurement Regulations and procedures and knowing how to apply them in a procurement tender process.
  • Knowledge of managerial tools and strategies to deliver effective people management to improve performance outcomes.
