Description

Harvey Nash's public sector client is recruiting for a Category Manager on an initial 6 month contract with a high likelihood of extension.

Based in the Corporate Procurement Unit and reporting to an Operational Procurement Manager you will be required to take ownership of a wide range of assigned categories and the tendering process for a wide range of complex Commodities for Works, Goods & Services. This will include conducting mainly Regulated & EU Procurement. You will provide expert advice to suppliers, client departments, colleagues and external stakeholders and represent the Corporate Procurement Unit across internal and external service areas.

Essential skills:

* Have experience of people, procurement and resource management including performance management in a procurement environment.

* Demonstrate the ability to apply relevant EU and Public Procurement legislation

* Knowledge of Procurement Regulations and procedures and knowing how to apply them in a procurement tender process.

* Knowledge of the steps taken to deliver strategic sourcing activity including the development of complex high value high risk procurement strategies for Goods, Services or Works; including, demand management, tendering, supplier selection and contract management
