Project Manager: II (Intermediate)

The Scrum Master has day-to-day responsibility for managing complex Agile software development programs and projects to completion. You will coordinate and lead the activities of multiple cross-functional scrum teams to complete IT projects that support the larger NMG digital business strategy and objectives. This position is responsible for managing and organizing resources, tasks, budgets and deliverables so that a project is completed within the defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints.

In performing these roles, the SM will be expected to leverage their prior knowledge and experience in blending traditional waterfall project management principles and practices with an Agile development methodology in the right proportions to fit large, complex, enterprise-level projects. They will be expected to employ an appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to and supports the corporate Enterprise Cloud strategy, standards and best practices associated with all aspects Cloud offerings
  • Contributes to and support the corporate adoption of the DevOps methodology and Agile development
  • Drive the Technical team and the Product Owners in an Agile development process
  • Responsible for enacting Scrum/Kanban values and practices
  • Guards and shields the team from distractions and interruptions from external interferences
  • Enables close cooperation across all roles and functions
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of the overall software delivery lifecycle and activities
  • Promote and participate in the continuous improvement of structure, processes, tooling to enable the teams to deliver more value
  • Organize and facilitate standups, release and sprint planning, reviews, demos and retrospectives
  • Identify opportunities for process and tool improvements and drive those from concept to implementation
  • Engineer a world-class platform with an eye towards rapid iteration and creative problem solving
  • Ensure quality and completeness of the product through unit, integration, and regression capabilities
  • Adheres to architecture standards, risk management and security policies
  • Contribute and collaborate in creation and consumption of open, standards-based solutions, while working with existing technologies and infrastructure

Experience: (Mandatory)

  • Familiar with cloud environments and services such as AWS
  • Familiar with Continuous Deployment and Automation concepts
  • In depth, practical experience with Cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, orchestration, trends and industry-leading cloud vendor offerings
  • Minimum 8 years' experience leading software development teams consisting of both onsite and offshore resources, with at least 2 years' experience as a practicing Scrum Master
  • Minimum 2 years of web development experience working on Windows or Java platform
  • Demonstrate excellent understanding of development concepts and SDLC methodologies
  • Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Education, Training, or Certification:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related discipline required
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) credentials highly preferred
