Description
My client are currently on the lookout for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and manage the IT delivery of the WCE Reinsurance project which is already underway and at an advanced analysis and design stage.
This includes full end to end responsibility for IT project delivery from project analysis, design, build and implementation through to the post-implementation.
The project is a large project covering 12 countries with an associated IT architecture. The candidate will have a supporting core team of 1 senior BA/project Manager along with 2 experienced Business Systems Analysts.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the successful end to end delivery of the IT WCE Reinsurance project.
- The management & the coordination of key project activities across the project life cycle
- Project planning & estimation, Resource management, Project scope, Requirements documentation, Project documentation, Project status reporting, Project risk management, Project communication, Change management, Dependency management, Operational readiness/Transition to end state Operating model.
- Post-implementation reviews
- Benefits realization Integration with overall Program.
- Senior Executive stakeholder management Co-ordination of IT Supplier activity and delivery Management of the IT delivery from 12 participating countries
- Provide regular reporting to applicable managers, executive team, and stakeholders as required.
- Escalate issues in an appropriate, timely, and tactful manner.
- Actively participate in resolution of issues and conflicts, internally as well as with clients and vendors where appropriate.
- Provide leadership to guide the IT delivery work stream providing timely advice to stakeholders and recognising budgetary constraints and functional dependencies.Maintain project artefacts throughout the project life cycle Identify & manage stakeholders (internal & external)
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Position: Must be results oriented and drive to ensure successful completion of the projects on time, on budget and within the defined scope while leading through influence and with solid soft skills and tact.
- Demonstrated experience of stakeholder management in a cross functional environment at senior exec level.
- Articulate and comfortable participant at project steering meetings.
- Proactive, detail oriented and ability to work independently.
- Excellent analytical skills. Possess strong technical skills and business acumen.
- Be able to understand customer requirements and relate these back to the project delivery team or dependent stakeholders where appropriate.
- Excellent communicator with strong influencing skills.
Essential Experience, Skills and Competencies:
Candidate must have extensive experience of leading large programs of work across a number of countries project delivery with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
The candidate should also possess the following skills and experience and be able to demonstrate/substantiate them at interview:
- Proven track record of successfully leading cross functional projects.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), especially with regards to providing information to Senior Exec and Management.
- Customer facing experience - leading meetings with suppliers and partners customers, providing input to resolve any issues, and driving any actions to completion.
- Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks under pressure.
- Uses data and analysis to make decisions and to influence others.
- Drives & manages change using influencing skills.
- The ability to make things happen.
- Experience with Back Office platforms and integrations of systems and processes within Financial Services environment.
- Previous experience of delivery within a Global multinational organisation.
- Project Management qualification - Advantageous
- Strong knowledge of Life and Pensions insurance. Reinsurance experience.
