Senior Python Developer - Frankfurt

Contract: 4-5 months

Start Date: June 25

Interviews: w/b May 14

Rate: £650- £700 per day (negotiable)

One of the top FinTech companies in the world, with an investment platform product operating in over 100 global companies, managing $20 trillion, require a top level Senior Python Developer, to join a team re-engineering existing Excel VBA & Matlab models into a flexible Python framework.

This includes supporting the full-development life-cycle as well as providing full knowledge transfer through documentation and training workshops.

The successful candidate will work closely with modellers to build a highly efficient, scalable solution within a complex financial domain.

The role will be based in Frankfurt Monday to Friday with travel and basic expenses covered.

The ideal Senior Python Developer for this role will have the following skills & experience:

  • Excellent understanding of Python development, ideally in a quantitative financial environment.
  • Ability to code in an object-oriented manner and collaborate on large projects.
  • Experience of unit and end-to-end testing of Python.
  • Ability to face off to business users to gather requirements.
  • Ability to lead training courses and mentor other developers.
  • Fluent English and strong technical writing skills. The ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, analytical and technical concepts to client and internal audiences.
  • A valid passport, any necessary visas, and be willing and able to travel to Frankfurt Monday-Friday for 4-5 months, starting 25th June (Travel and Expenses covered).

Candidates with skills & experience in the following will be at an advantage:

  • Experience setting up source control, test frameworks, continuous integration and build automation for enterprise level projects
  • Exposure to Microprudential or Macroprudential exercises or projects related to such tasks would be considered an asset
  • Familiarity with the Supervisory Reporting (Finrep/Corep)
  • Familiarity with the EBA ST Methodology for 2016, and/or the 2018 EU wide exercises, or any other wide-scale ST exercise
