My high profile banking client is recruiting for a Vendor Manager to work in their Depositary Receipts Department. The business focuses on elevating the benefit of depositary receipts (DRs), which are negotiable securities traded, typically, in the U.S. or on other global securities markets, representing the equity of issuers outside those markets. We are committed to helping securities issuers access the world's rapidly evolving financial markets and deliver a comprehensive suite of depositary receipt services. We also work financial intermediaries and the investors in the DR marketplace. The business acts as depositary for more than 2,700 DR programs in partnership with leading companies from 68 countries.

Team Description:

The Vendor Manager provides in depth technical and business support to the Depositary Receipts Network Management team who are responsible for the DR's business' custody network and third-party vendors utilised by the division.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-going support and evaluation of existing custody network, including the considerations of Legal/Compliance/Risk Management/Operations and Depositary Receipts Leading the recommendation on the selection process and subsequent management of the appointed custodian/broker to ensure all area are evaluated and appropriately approved.
  • Manage and negotiate relationships with network of custodians. Provides support on negotiations of service levels, contracts and commercial terms with custodians.
  • Responsibility to support Depositary Receipts business' on-going monitoring throughout the year of the custodians' operations, local market activity, financial strength, regulatory compliance and overall service performance. Co-ordinate annual due-diligence review to include, when appropriate, on-site visits.
  • Individual will be responsible for gaining a full understanding of the local structure and modes of operation of national securities markets and market entities. They will create and maintain regular communication with local custodian and local third party vendors, in order to obtain pertinent market news that impact the processing or safety of local securities, the running of depositary receipts programs, or our safe kept assets. The information will be analysed, verified and impact evaluated and communicated.
  • Act as a high-level resource and escalation point/problem solver on operational and on more general network management/relationship issues, for other Depositary Receipts teams, including operations, product management and issuer relationship teams.

Requirements:

  • Experience in custody industry/financial services, banking and/or Network experience.
  • Previous experience of managing relationships with a network of custodians.
  • Good understanding of the Depositary Receipts business preferable, otherwise experience in the investment sector's Back Office and/or securities services operations would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the ASIA/Pacific region is desirable but not essential
