Finance Data Analyst - Fixed Asset

My client is a leading household retailer who are currently undergoing a Finance Transformation programme which is thought to be the largest of its kind in UK Retail history. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Finance Data Analyst
This role will be positioned within the Asset Management Team with responsibility for data governance and data quality to support a global programme of work in the Finance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with Finance stakeholders and will be Embedded into the key Finance processes.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the collection of existing asset data held in multiply systems (Excel, Horizon, Verisae, etc.)
- Integrating existing data to find commonality and errors
- Cleansing data and creating a standard data structure and approach
- Combining multiple data sets into '1 vision of the truth'
- Working with ERP team and project team to develop data migration strategy and plan
- Summarising data analysis for presentation to both finance and non-finance colleagues
- Review and preparation of data analysis findings and associated impact papers
Skills and Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in data quality and/or data governance
- Previous experience of a Finance Transformation or Migration programme
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience of Fixed Assets
- Datamodelling experience
- Understanding of how poor quality data impacts the business fully implementing accounting policy
- Strong presentation skills
- Stakeholder and communication management across countries
- Understanding and knowledge of Tesco's structure and asset controllers
- A practical appreciation of how poor data quality undermines the ability of decision makers from using that data with confidence to understand and manage the business
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Graphs, PivotTables etc.) supported by strong skills in other Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Power BI, Visio and Access
