My client is looking for a Claims specialist with about 1-2 years experience to work with a fast paced, friendly environment.

Purpose of Job:
Responsible for the adjustment of the European Property and Accident & Health claims underwritten within my client.

Main Tasks:
The jobholder is responsible for adjusting primarily the above claims for risks either lead or non-lead in accordance with guidelines agreed with the Head of Claims/Active Underwriter:
The jobholder is responsible for the appointing and monitoring of loss adjusters and solicitors on lead claims. The job holder must build close relationships with solicitors and loss adjusters for the handling of on-going cases including any potential court cases/litigation.
The jobholder is responsible for monitoring claims on risks not lead by the Syndicate including liaison with Xchanging Claims Service (XCS), the leading Underwriter in the market, and any loss adjuster or solicitor representing Underwriters.
The jobholder is responsible for reporting claims information on a timely and accurate basis to the Active Underwriter/Claims Director in accordance with agreed guidelines. The jobholder attends regular meetings reporting significant movements, reserves, settlements, and new claims.
The jobholder liaises with the Active Underwriter/Claims Director regarding potential claims/underwriting issues.
The job holder is responsible for reconciling XCS reserves (through electronic messaging).
The jobholder is responsible for checking (Syndicate Claims Messages) to identify potential reinsurance recoveries - the jobholder focuses on identifying large losses as this will have the greatest impact on reinsurance (Internally known as CAT codes).
The jobholder is responsible for liaising with Outwards Reinsurance technicians on reinsurance recoveries and provides information in respect of queries raised by the reinsurer.
The jobholder liaises with the Accounts Department for cheque requests for settlement of relevant claims. For the Lloyd's related settlements, the Broker creates and submits the LCCF (Lloyd's Claim Collection Form) and the jobholder then authorises the broker to take to XCS for processing. Job holder also to be conversant with all aspects of ECF.
The jobholder is responsible for assisting in the promotion of my clients Management to Insured's and brokers through the provision of its claims service. The jobholder will support the Active Underwriter in meeting brokers, Insured's and visiting coverholders where necessary.
The jobholder to represent my client at various market meetings with other syndicates and insurers.
The jobholder is responsible for supporting any audit process including internal audit and I or reinsurance companies.
Responsible for ensuring that all claims are entered onto the relevant claims system and that diary entries are followed up.
To assist with the management of various Third-Party Administrators, through the audit programme.
To assist with the monitoring of formal complaints to ensure compliance with the company procedure.
To monitor and ensure timely processing of monthly bordereaux provided by TPA's & Coverholders.
Use formal reporting mechanisms to promptly notify relevant parties of any perceived new risks or failures of existing control measures.
Act in a way that pays due regards to the interests of customers and treats them fairly at all times.
