Facilities Project Engineer - Facilities Management

A Facilities Project Engineer/Work Services Engineer with Facilities Management experience is required to work on a six-month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Samlesbury.

This is a 6-month contract with a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Facilities Project Engineer/Work Services Engineer contract role

Reporting to the Investment Projects FM Team Leader, the individual would be responsible for the management, definition, selection and implementation of a wide range of facilities projects supporting the implementation of Production support and Manufacturing Plant & Equipment installation projects across the site. Building services design and design management, both in the UK and overseas, and provide day to day engineering guidance to projects. The role will require travel in the UK and overseas and a flexible and responsive approach is required.

  • Interpretation of site customer requirements leading to the preparation of implementation plans, designs specifications and financial business cases.
  • Co-ordination and management project teams, consultants and contractors to effectively resource the project design and implementation.
  • Safety management application to manage project installations in accordance with current company and statutory health and safety legislation.
  • Manage a range of primary suppliers, including strategic partners, in accordance with supplier management procedures to maximise the output, achieve customer satisfaction and ensure best value for the business.
  • Provide budgetary and financial management justifications and control throughout the life of the project

Key skills required for the Facilities Project Engineer/Work Services Engineer

Given the skills necessary for such a role, the applicants should have proven Project Management & experience in one or more of the following; Facilities, Construction, Plant & Equipment and Estates experience. This experience, should be demonstrated over a minimum of five years.

To fulfil the role, you should possess the following demonstrable skills;

  • Knowledge and experience of Construction and/or Plant & Equipment projects
  • Good Health & Safety management with suitable qualifications
  • Experience of the Life Cycle Management process, or similar.
  • Technical skills to ensure all relevant design, construction and handover standards are achieved
  • Financial management responsibility
  • Good supplier management skills.

Ideally a background in Facilities Management, Building Services and/or Construction is required, however other similar disciplines will be considered. The applicant should be Degree or HND qualified in a relevant engineering related discipline and hold applicable Health & Safety Qualifications (eg: NEBOSH, CSTS, ISOH,etc.)
