Our public sector client is looking for a highly capable and focused Qualified Accountant to join their Glasgow based team for a 6 month initial contract.
You will be a CCAB or CIMA qualified Accountant. You will work closely with technical architects and programme colleagues, contributing to the design of systems required to deliver the organisations outcomes.
You will be responsible for the implementation, management and improvement of processes and procedures for financial governance. You will also provide scrutiny & constructive challenge of options appraisals & business cases to ensure financial requirements are met.
To carry out this role successfully you will have the following skills:
* Professionally qualified accountant - CCAB professional accountancy body or equivalent with up to date CPD.
* Experience of implementing, improving or managing systems of internal control including supporting Programmes/Projects, with a proven ability to effectively interpret and apply solutions to finance challenges in a Project or Programme environment.
* Debt Management or Capital Accounting experience.
* Must be credible with staff, creating conditions to build confident and effective teams that empower, value, develop and motivate people.
* Proven ability to work on your own initiative, to deliver high quality outcomes and outputs and to meet deadlines whilst managing competing pressures.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to explain financial information effectively to stakeholders and non-finance professionals.
