Quantity Surveyor- Naval Ships
A Quantity Surveyor is required to work on a six month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Glasgow.
This is a 6-month contract with a leading UK defence business.
Key Focus Areas:
- Commercial management of suppliers/sub-contractors
- Production and approval of interim valuations
- Progress
- Claims avoidance, defence and generation
- Negotiation of Variations, claims and final accounts
- Production and maintenance of all relevant contractual documentation including letters,
- reports and gathering of data
- Identification of potential change and take necessary action
- Methods of procurement
- Alignment of supplier contracts with head contract
- Alignment of scope and budget
- Production of tender documentation
- Ensuring Post Contract Controls are built into documents
- Market knowledge
- Bid maturity
Traits:
- Evidence of having worked in a post contract environment for a contracting organisation
- Negotiation skills
- Commercially aware
- Good commercial and procurement knowledge
- Likely to be PQS background
- Strategic
The role is based in Glasgow - Commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh
