Senior Development Engineer (CAD)/ Medical Device- Duration: to
- Location: Oberdorf, BL
The Senior Development Engineer is responsible for the design and development of new and improvements/modifications of existing electromechanical medical devices and Can work on complex assignments on with a small degree of supervision.
Position duties and responsibilities
- Designs, develops and improves electromechanical medical devices to the Synthes product
- development process
- Performs the required activities and generates the appropriate PD documents to ensure (in particular EU MDD/MDR, US FDA, Japanese PAL)
- compliance with national and international regulations related to medical devices
- Works with manufacturing during the design stages to incorporate manufacturability into the
- product designs and during the implementation phase
- Works with internal shared services and external suppliers to achieve agreed project milestones
- Is primary contact person for technical questions/issues of existing products
- In close collaboration with the technical engineering office, generates product models, concept
- layouts, and prints using a CAD software
- Responsible for the performance of the product
- Develops test set-ups (including derivation of benchmarks) together with the test team and process)
- coordinates the activities required to fabricate test parts and - complete testing (according to PD
- Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to the job, and to maintain the highest levels of
- professionalism, ethics and compliance at all time
Your Profile
- Master degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in the design and development of medical devices
- Business fluent in German and English
- Creative/problem-solving skills
- Analytical skills
- Willingness to accept responsibility
- Team player
Must haves
- Fluent English
- Fluent German
- 5 Years experience in Medical devices
Non Technical Skills and Additional Details
Some flexibility in working hours is required - Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision; - Quick learner, motivated self-starter; - Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills; - Able to follow change management for internal guidelines. Language proficiencies: -English and German spoken and written
