Senior UK Tax Advisor: Global Oil Giant: Energy

World Leading Global Energy Oil Company has an exciting opportunity for a Tax Advisor who will have responsibility for managing tax advice to a portfolio of UK legal entities, with particular focus on the Corporate Sector and Projects & Technology businesses in the UK Group.

This will involve liaising with the rest of the UK Tax team and the UK Manage Direct Tax team based in Chennai to ensure that appropriate advice is given to stakeholders and that related compliance and reporting requirements have been managed.

This includes ensuring the provision of concise, accurate, comprehensive, intelligible and timely UK tax advice to the Group stakeholders and being accountable for the quality and delivery of domestic tax advice within the UK for area of focus and supporting other businesses and activities across the Group as priorities demand.

The principal accountabilities of this role are as follows:

  • Accountable for the overall proper management of all taxes in the UK, irrespective of whether these are handled in their own organisation.
  • Manage the overall effective and efficient operation of tax in the UK, such to include.
  • Assist with relationship with HMRC under "enhanced taxpayer relationship" principles.
  • Support and exhibit the new behaviours and ways of working to embed flexibility as a sustainable approach to the rapid and agile deployment of resources to high risk/value priorities within and across Tax, in particular working together with other tax teams in the London hub.
  • Support management of resources to achieve the targeted balance between dedication (to assigned business/function/process) and allocation (to other areas/projects)."

Skills & Requirements:Design and recommend optimal corporate income tax solutions and related entity and contractual structures for the purpose of meeting legal requirements, reducing exposure and maximizing shareholder value. Account for the tax consequences of transactions undertaken by the Group in accordance with local and international accounting standards and ensure that filing and reporting requirements are met.

You Need:

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK Tax.
  • To ensure that a best in class service is provided to the business in relation to UK corporate and holding company tax matters.
  • Experience commensurate with the seniority of the role: this is an individual contributor role, requiring strong technical skills.

You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
