Description
We are looking for one "Oracle DWH, ODI and OBIEE Specialist" to start from ASAP a 50-days contract (initial, extensions possible) for an international Org'-client in Rome. The position is based in Rome.
TASKS
- Provide technical support for the corporate Oracle BI product - DWH, ODI and OBIEE
- Respond to user tickets on issues with Oracle BI
- Support users through the testing of proposed solutions Grant access rights to BI reports
- Resolve system configuration issues.
- Understand technical and functional requirements of change requests.
- Perform impact analysis on user requirements by studying the data models that are interconnected.
- Prepare a change management plan to migrate DWH, ODI and BI objects in a linear manner from DEV environment to the PRD environment. Ensure this is done in a coordinated way.
- Write unix Shell Scripts, where needed, to automate the approved change management plan.
- Thoroughly document all the support work and change requests that are performed.
- Perform the following duties that are area specific.
Data warehouse (DWH)
- Align all the DB objects in the DWH for the different environments - DEV, UAT, SBX, SUP, TRN and PRD.
- Optimise the queries behind views and materialized views.
- Identify possible remodelling options for the available data models to save DB space in the long run.
Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)
- Align the ODI repositories for the different environments.
- Create a separate process to delete old data in all the non-production DWH environments.
- Enable daily loading in all the non-production environments.
Business Intelligence (OBIEE)
- Create or modify dashboards that are within the scope of a project.
- Develop APEX pages for directly managing security related data in the DWH.
- Tune the performance of the queries written by BI and also BI publisher queries.
- Align all the environments in terms of RPD and Catalog.
- Ensure that the Dataset name in the RPD are the same in all the RPDs except the connection pool passwords.
- Ensure that TNS names have same dataset names except for the SID (Service Name) so that the BI environments are pointing to the respective DB environments.
- Any other duties as required.
SKILLS
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline with at least five years of professional work experience in Oracle Database, ODI and OBIEE.
- Experience of both designing and executing technical solutions from business requirements.
- Ability to document technical projects.
Technical Requirements:
- Strong skills in analysing, modifying and creating reports with OBIEE - Siebel Analytics
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft tables and Postgres database would be a distinct advantage
- Knowledge of Oracle BI Server
- Databases: Oracle 11g, Oracle 12c
- Reporting tools: Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), BI Publisher 12c
- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows
- Middleware tools : Oracle Data Integrator 11g and 12c, Oracle Golden Gate 11g and 12c.
Languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English essential.
