Description:
- Amgen is searching for a Senior Associate Finance in our Operations Finance team. This role will be based on our West Greenwich, RI facility and will report to the Senior Finance Manager.
- As part of the Operations Finance organization, this Senior Associate will be the Finance point of contact for certain cost centers assigned within the two manufacturing facilities. The Senior Associate will have frequent interaction with senior leadership across the Rhode Island (ARI).
Summary of key activities/responsibilities:
- The Sr. Associate will support financial expense planning processes such as the monthly close, quarterly forecasting, and annual planning activities including headcount, operating expense, capital and COGM planning.
- Prepare and present operating expense results for various department managers and communicate expense plans and results.
- Prepare standard and ad hoc expense analyses including headcount related costs and outside expenses.
- Perform analytical comparison and obtain explanations of changes between LE/Budget exercises per expense line items
- Provide support to the Capital budget and latest estimates process during the year
- Provide high quality, timely and business-sense financial and/or technical advice to management and or peers.
- Document analysis and related-work flow activities to insure proper support and standardized procedures
Basic Qualifications:
- Master's degree OR
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of accounting or finance experience OR
- Associates degree and 6 years of accounting or finance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
- Working knowledge of key finance systems (Hyperion planning and ad-hoc reporting, SAP)
- Experience supporting senior leaders of an organization as an FP&A business partner or in some other advisory capacity
- Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact well with all levels of management
- Strong leadership ability and a team player
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to take initiative and work within a fast-moving environment
- Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
