Description

For our client in Dusseldorf, we are currently looking for a data security/ data protection Officer.

Volume: 40h per week
Location: Dusseldorf
Project language: English

Project Background:
The EU's legislative bodies have prepared a new Data Protection legislation. The EU General Data Protection Regulation will significantly change EU data protection law in several Areas. The Regulation was adopted on Mai 2016 and will come into force on Mai 2018. There are several areas which have "adjustment requirements", e.g.:
- Order processing agreements
- Consent agreements and consent
- Information and access to personal data (to affected individuals)
- Process Register
- And some other new tasks (e. g. Data Protection Impact Assessment)

The project has 3 Phases:

- Scope of phase 1
Getting a reliable process register (Inventory) with 80-90 percent of data protection relevant processes (focus primary on group wide processes and secondary on Germany) Already needed by DP law, see § 4e BDSG, in the future needed also but now there is fine (2%) if you cannot provide it; Process Register is Basis for Gap Analysis
(This request is only for Phase 1, further Phases will be detailed at the end of Phase 1!)

- Scope of phase 2
Identifying Gaps and needs for action regarding to EU-GDPR;

- Scope of Phase 3
Identifying Gaps and prepare an internal audit regarding EU-GDPR readiness. Milestones of Phase 3 are strongly depending on found GAPS.

Tasks:
- Analysis of regulatory requirements and translating them into actionable work packs in the client's context
- Creating IT and functional concepts with respect to data protection and information security
- Alignment with Stakeholders from Legal, Procurement, IT and others on the Project activities, responsibilities and action items
- Preparing and conducting presentations and meetings to various internal stakeholders, documenting meeting minutes, follow up on action items with stakeholders
- Coordination of project activities, support of stakeholders in questions related to GDPR
- Tracking of project milestones and individual tasks, updating Project Plan
- Support in definition and capturing of internal records for processing activities
Skills:
- strong knowledge of the EU-GDPR
- experience as Data Protection Officer
