Description
For our life-science client based in Basel, Switzerland, we are looking for a:Global Catergory Manager
The task is to provide high value procurement solutions and category strategies; support third party vendor selection, vendor development and performance measurement activities; ensure best-in-class delivery of external services and products in the relevant category to support technical R&D projects and to realize year-on-year productivity improvements, cost savings, and process improvements in close collaboration with the customers in the business.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Support TRD project teams in the identification, negotiation, evaluation, contracting and management of 3rd parties to support technical development projects in a high-quality, timely and cost-effective manner.
* Support the project leaders and development teams in the selection and management of suppliers and service providers.
* Ensure a category strategy is in place.
* Define and adapt a category strategy in alignment with senior stakeholders in the business.
* Align category strategy along the product lifecycle with the ESO/TechOps category strategies as applicable to the assigned category.
* Manage the relationship with key stakeholders in the business to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction.
* Analyze, identify, evaluate, negotiate, select, contract and develop a supply base which meets the line functions' need for timely and quality supply of goods and services for the assigned category.
* Manage key vendor relationships through appropriate programs (e.g. alliance management, supplier relationship management).
* Develop, align and implement innovative cost savings and productivity initiatives.
* Support TRD Procurement with establishing efficient strategic business processes in line with applicable regulations.
* Identify potential outsourcing and offshoring opportunities for TRD Procurement for repetitive and transactional activities in order to use the strategic procurement resources as efficiently as possible.
