Intern wanted for our Zurich based client in the manufacturing sector.Your experience/skills:
- Master's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field
- Previous experience with strategic sourcing and the metals industry are advantageous
- Expertise in working with Data and analytics
- Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to work with complex and large datasets and to draw conclusions based on the data
- Languages: fluent English both written and spoken
Your tasks:
- Executing and implementing Requests for Quotations for direct materials like Steel, demanding collection, analytically reviewing of commercial offers and preparing negotiations
- Collecting and consolidating volume data and executing data analytics as part of the steel and copper contracts review process
- Running ad hoc reports from the spend database, identifying cost saving opportunities across the portfolio
- Identifying and executing additional costs reduction and process optimization by supporting projects like supplier innovation workshops, Value Analysis and Value Engineering
- Participating in meetings like negotiations, contract review and contract implementation, defining meeting contents and agendas, documenting results and updating action plans
- Interacting directly with external suppliers and internal stakeholders at multiple levels in the organisation and supporting the execution of the Supply Base Management framework, including supplier classification and development
