Management Accountant - Excel, Cost Base, Overhead, Financial Reports
A Management Accountant with is required to work on a six month with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Edinburgh.
Our client is an international leader in electronic and information technologies for defence systems, aerospace, data, infrastructures, land security and protection and sustainable 'smart' solutions. From the design, development and production of state-of-the-art equipment, software and systems to through life support.
Overview of the Management Accountant contract role
The Finance department is looking for an experienced accountant to work in a temporary (9 months) role support of the Edinburgh Cost base, Overhead and Functional support function. Based in Edinburgh the candidate would work directly for the Vice President of Finance and provide financial advice and support to the Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, and ICT functions.
The candidate would manage and be responsible for consolidating financial reports and ensuring reporting requirements are met by providing accurate, timely and relevant management information. Ensuring this by supporting the functional management teams and liaising with the overhead accounting teams In Edinburgh.
Key responsibility areas for the Management Accountant contract role
- Edinburgh Functional Overhead control and reporting
- Produce Consolidated site inputs including total cost base, overhead costs, hours utilisation, headcount, and capital
- Cost base expenditure monitoring and reporting
- Direct and Indirect Hours efficiency through utilisation monitoring and reporting
- Cost base transaction reconciliation & support input to Integrated Business plan for cost base and recoveries
- Produce consolidated annual budgets, monthly forecast and annual forecasts for the functions, identifying major risks and opportunities
- Support to business decisions and investments are financially sound and follow due process and review, including financial modelling
- Provide accurate and timely management information
Key skills required for the Management Accountant
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA).
- Proficient in EXCEL
The role is based in Edinburgh - commutable from Dundee, Perth, Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Glasgow
