JOB DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of the role is to provide advanced Excel modelling skills to support the development of professional, robust and auditable financial models
Key Accountabilities:
- Create complex financial models to support investment appraisals, affordability assessments
- Take ownership of model development in all stages of the modelling life cycle (scope, specify, design, build, test, use)
- Engage with the Financial Scrutiny and Decision Support Team (FSDST) and ensure that FSDST standards and requirements are met
- Engage with data providers to develop data requirements and ensure models are efficiently aligned to input data
- Engage with stakeholders to define reporting requirement
Essential:
- Advanced Excel technical modelling skills and technique, including VBA
- Ability to create clear process maps and detailed instruction manuals for models
- Knowledge of financial principles
- Confident in managing demanding stakeholders
- A self-starter with a passion for data and attention to detail. A high level of curiosity, intellectual agility and statistical fluency is essential.
Desirable:
- CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
- Previous commercial experience and modelling within different business environments desirable, typically within a finance context
- Experience of working in the defence or government sectors
