Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting an MI Analyst - Financial based in Andover for 3 months initially.

Requirements:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of the role is to provide advanced Excel modelling skills to support the development of professional, robust and auditable financial models

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create complex financial models to support investment appraisals, affordability assessments
  • Take ownership of model development in all stages of the modelling life cycle (scope, specify, design, build, test, use)
  • Engage with the Financial Scrutiny and Decision Support Team (FSDST) and ensure that FSDST standards and requirements are met
  • Engage with data providers to develop data requirements and ensure models are efficiently aligned to input data
  • Engage with stakeholders to define reporting requirement

Essential:

  • Advanced Excel technical modelling skills and technique, including VBA
  • Ability to create clear process maps and detailed instruction manuals for models
  • Knowledge of financial principles
  • Confident in managing demanding stakeholders
  • A self-starter with a passion for data and attention to detail. A high level of curiosity, intellectual agility and statistical fluency is essential.

Desirable:

  • CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Previous commercial experience and modelling within different business environments desirable, typically within a finance context
  • Experience of working in the defence or government sectors
