Supplier Quality Engineer24 Month Contract

Optimus Life Sciences is working with a global Medical Device company that are looking to add an experienced manager to their supplier quality team to their German offices.
The successful candidate will manage 2 teams of 4 supplier quality engineers, one in Germany and one remotely. The position is for a long-term project which is linked to internal developments within the company and the wider medical device industry.
Although this is a leadership role, the successful applicant must have a strong enough technical knowledge to step in and work in a problem-solving manner when required to.
Responsibilities
- Carry out strategic planning and supplier compliance activities.
- Ensure that the external supply chain is meeting expectations from a quality, service and cost perspective.
- You can develop, plan, approve, manage and continually assess the supplier quality compliance activities and its execution
- Develop and apply standardized methodologies to the management of quality activities and ensure execution at the manufacturing site.
- Drive effective closure of NC's and CAPA's, by mentoring and coaching NC/CAPA owners to ensure comprehension, development, and execution of corrective/preventive action
- Keep up to date on external body audit activities at the manufacturing site as pertains to supplier interaction.
- Build long lasting relationships with the different Supplier Quality functions, Quality, Strategic Sourcing and additional key interfaces to facilitate effective collaboration.
- You actively develop the team's expertise through continuous coaching, promoting development programs and formal appraisals through the performance review process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in medical or mechanical engineering.
- You are familiar with GMP, ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820 standards and you dispose of working knowledge of FMEA, validation programs and SPC processes in a highly regulated environment.
- You show strong leadership skills and have previously managed a team in a multinational organization.
- You have strong communication and negotiations skills which will contribute to your project management and problem-solving skills.
- You must be willing to travel in support of business needs to different geographical locations.
- Fluent German language required.
