EMEA Public Relations Manager - Banking

Our client is seeking an EMEA Public Relations Manager - Banking with experience of the below. This is an initial 10 month contract and you will be working for a leading Financial Services organisation based in Canary Wharf.

Daily Rate: £395.00

Background:

  • The EMEA Marketing Team is looking for an experienced PR manager to join the PR department for approximately 10 months on a contract basis.
  • The position is required due to the head of PR for EMEA taking maternity leave.
  • This new position will report to the head of Integrated & Country Marketing for EMEA, and join three PR colleagues who are based in London.

Summary of role:

  • The PR Manager for EMEA will focus on helping to execute the regional PR strategy for the bank, with the aim of obtaining positive media coverage and share of voice for the bank.
  • You will work closely with the regional and global PR team, as well as local PR agencies on a daily basis to ensure media opportunities for key spokespeople in EMEA are identified and leveraged, and that all necessary processes and policies are followed.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Work with PR agencies, PR team and spokespeople to arrange media interviews and meetings on a day-to-day basis
  • Write media briefings, background documents and talking points for spokespeople
  • Manage reputational issues, as needed
  • Write and proof-read press releases, ensuring they align with the State Street style guide and manage associated compliance and review processes
  • Create and execute media plans for specific projects, businesses and products
  • Coordinate and produce regular reporting, including weekly media coverage emails, monthly metrics and project/campaign summaries etc
  • Work with PR agencies to translate media materials, as needed
  • Organise media training sessions for spokespeople

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree, ideally in a communications or PR-related discipline
  • Approximately 5-10 years of experience as PR counsel at either an agency or in-house team
  • Reputation and issues management experience
  • Experience in financial services PR necessary
  • Deep media relations expertise and extensive relationships with tier-one and trade-specific media in the UK and Europe
  • Proven ability to develop and execute big picture, global PR and media strategies while demonstrating results
  • Bi-lingual in French, German, Dutch and/or Italian preferable, but not essential
