iSeries/RPG software engineers x2

Our banking client in Jersey is looking for 2 highly skilled iSeries/RPG software engineers to join them for a 6 months initial contract:

What are the skills, knowledge and experience needed to do the role?

  • Extensive experience of iSeries development in RPG, CL, SQL, DB2/relational database design
  • Substantial experience of relational database design
  • substantial experience of using industry recognised frameworks and development tooling
  • substantial experience of implementing programming best practice - especially around scalability, availability and performance
  • demonstrable knowledge of key phases of software delivery life cycle and established software development methodologies
  • experience of working in an environment where products have to be delivered to specific timescales
  • the candidate must be able to complete all aspects of technical analysis and technical solution design, coding, unit testing, documentation and implementation of changes to existing software and/or creation of new software
  • Substantial experience of documenting to a high standard
  • A strong ability to communicate at all levels is essential
  • Strong collaboration skills

An added bonus would be experience of any of the following:

  • Knowledge of data warehouse principles would be an advantage
  • a knowledge of banking products, output, or infrastructure would be an advantage
  • Any Agile/Scrum methodology experience would be an advantage
