Commercial Manager - Public Sector x5

Our client a large public sector organisation require 5 Commercial Managers for a period of 6 months. The Commercial Managers will be working directorate which is responsible for the main corporate functions of the department including; commercial, analysis, international education, digital, data and technology functions, human resources, finance, estates and the governance and relationship standards with the public bodies.

The Commercial function priority is to ensure that all commercial and procurement activity supports the Department's priorities and delivers outstanding value for money. It also exists to proactively develop commercial solutions that reduce waste in procurement and release funds for the front line.

The Role

These roles are part of teams providing lead support to complex commercial projects. The team work in partnership with our customers, helping them to deliver efficiencies, improve commercial capability, taking a strategic approach to resolving their biggest commercial challenges and managing categories of spend.

Skills Required: Commercial Management expertise in challenging commercial scenarios which is effective in delivering policy and delivery outcomes, new commercial initiatives and improvements, savings, efficiencies and good commercial outcomes. A sound knowledge of Public Procurement legislation and how it can be pragmatically applied to benefit policy and programme delivery, knowing when to seek legal advice.Experience of delivering successful outcomes and identifying and implementing solutions to challenging commercial scenarios. Experience of applying sound decision-making processes to solve problems.

Candidates with the full MCIPS qualification are preferred although it is not essential if you can demonstrate you meet all other requirements for this post.
