Materials & Inventory Controller
Hersham, Surrey
Contract role (6 months)
£15 per hour plus (negotiable)

Our client supply a unique portfolio of atmospheric and process gases, equipment and services. From the food & beverage industry across to medical, transportation and energy sectors.

The role will find the successful candidate managing the "hard goods" availability, optimising a balance between the cost of capital tied up in spare parts inventory and minimising down time and mean time to repair.

You will build and maintain Equipment Bills of Materials in SAP for gas and plant installations.
Purchase (or repair) and arrange storage of necessary spare parts.
Manage the spare parts inventory levels, through MRP.
Provide a 24hr - 365 days/year point of contact for materials.
Optimise European spares inventory levels & echelon policy.
Provide training and support in "hard goods" inventory management methods and SAP transactions.
Manage key supplier and procurement relations to ensure call off contracts are valid and current.
Manage stock inventory checks via Cycle and Sample counting
General data entry and extraction into and from SAP
Analyse SAP data and co-ordinate mass data updates where required.
Providing emergency breakdown support to the operations and maintenance teams.
Monthly and Quarterly Report writing.
Help to develop, track, monitor and automate (where possible)
KPI's for the Materials team.
Providing general admin support to the Plant Support team.

Skills
Educated to diploma/degree level or above preferable, ideally in a technical or engineering subject
Strong commercial acumen
Excellent report writing and analytical skills with an analytical mindset
Excellent administrative skills, with attention to detail is crucial
Good communication skills - you will be liaising with a wide range of people from all cultures and backgrounds
Terminology and technical appreciation of operating plant and equipment
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specification of equipment
A purchasing or supply chain background
Excellent use of analytical tools plus good IT skills, specifically:
oMicrosoft Office, especially advanced MS Excel (Pivot tables, Macros etc)
oSAP (Materials and Warehousing Module)
oAccess Databases utilising Dynamic Link Libraries (DLL's)
Good organisational and supervisory skills
Budgetary management
