VAT and CIS Consultant - VAT Team

Our public sector partner has an excellent long term opportunity for a CIS Consultant with strong working knowledge around UK VAT to join their Edinburgh based team for a 12 month initial contract.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Review the way CIS operates within the organisation
- Consider the content of the HMRC review
- Prepare a strategy for ensuring that they are complying with HMRC legal requirements
- Provide a training course for staff within the organisation working in conjunction with the VAT team and HMRC
- Ensure that the procedures for staff taking the process forward are HMRC compliant
- Reconcile the relevant account on their Finance system
- There may also be work within the team on other VAT related issues such as Making Tax Digital
What skills and experience do you need to carry out this role?
- Good working knowledge of UK VAT
- Good working knowledge of Construction Industry Tax
- Ability to pass on the knowledge of CIS in a user friendly manner
- Working knowledge of Oracle E-business would be beneficial but not essential
