Senior Operational Researcher (Quant & Operational Analysis, Procurement, DV Cleared)
Description:
Leads and supports a team of operational researchers in the creation of quality assured analytical models to support business decision making. Able to use a variety of analytical techniques and clearly communicate complex subjects.
Analytical techniques should include: data analysis; mathematical programming; performance management; simulation; statistics; and systems thinking.
Skills and experience: experience of managing others and leading projects; proficiency in spreadsheet modelling using Excel and VBA; experience in the application of Quality Assurance methods, including knowledge of the principles that underpin the AQuA Book.
Experience Required:
Essential:
- Understanding of C4I and in particular military strategic and tactical communications and their operational architectures.
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge and experience of both qualitative (eg problem-structuring methods, facilitation, cognitive mapping) and Quantitative (eg discrete event simulation, systems dynamics and communications modelling) Operational Analysis (OA) and scientific analysis techniques, and their use in solving problems.
- An ability to convey complex issues in a clear and concise way, including relevant caveats, both verbally and in written form.
- Good communication skills and experience of presenting to a range of audiences.
- An ability to effectively organise/prioritise your workload and where appropriate, to provide assistance to others to do the same.
Desirable:
- Familiar with Procurement in particular Requirement and life cycles.
- Knowledge of reliability, assurance and resilience for space related systems.
- Previous knowledge of military SATCOM systems.
- Commercial SATCOM and Small Sat Expertise.
