Description
My client is looking for an SC Cleared Finance Support person for a Government client based in Corsham.
Primary responsibilities of the role will include:
-Support the delivery of In-year Budget and Forecast by conducting detailed work against specific project areas.
-Review financial reports and reconcile all accounts on a weekly basis to ensure payments align to approvals and are booked to the correct financial codes.
-Maintain accurate records of financial commitment and forecast/actual spend details.
-Identify and investigate any misbookings or unknown charges, liaising with Project Managers or Billing Team as required. Identify why they occurred and inform Budget Manager.
-Prepare monthly accrual and creditor journals to ensure the financial accounts reflect the true Project position.
-Provide staffing support for low value Business Cases and financial accounting returns and processes and assist with reviews as appropriate.
-Ensure a taut audit trail is maintained to satisfy audit requirements iaw Departmental policy.
Essentials Skills:
-Proficient in using Excel at intermediate level.
-Strong clear communicator, both via Outlook and in person.
-Able to adapt to changing priorities and short deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
General awareness of underlying MOD finance processes and terms eg. Accruals/Creditors, reconciling costs to Trial Balance, importance of thorough governance processes and a taut audit trail.
