My client are currently looking for a project accountant to join their Defence Equipment and Support unit (DE&S). The suitable candidate will supervise cost engineering, analysis and control activities while liaising with the project manager.
The main duties of a suitable candidate will be:
- Assisting project managers with the production of budgets.
- Documenting project accounting processes.
- Challenge project cost and cost to completion.
- Identify cost trends for management attention.
- Participate in establishment of pricing structures to be applied to quantities for estimates.
- Obtain supply chain information to update the cost data file
- Ensure purchases are recorded correctly against projects.
Essential:
- Sufficiently knowledgeable to be able to represent Team at internal meetings or workshops.
- Ability to use statistical tools to analyse metrics.
- Demonstrable skill in identifying, analysing and providing innovative solutions to cost management problems.
- SC is required.
