Description

Key Accountabilities

Production of monthly impairment results, including variance analysis and business interpretation

Oversight of impairment models and processes, and calculation of post model adjustments required

Good working knowledge of model governance requirements and an ability to work proactively with key stakeholders to identify and close any areas that require improvement

Supports the design and delivery of periodic validations of impairment models

Identifies and assesses risks to ensure risk is well managed within the Bank's risk appetite

Acts as a source of professional expertise to mitigate the potential for risk and ensures systems and processes are fit for purpose

Continuously builds market leading professional expertise

Implements, or manages the implementation of, processes to deliver Group Risk policy - and oversight and assurance within business areas, agreeing remediation plans as necessary

Actively promotes Group Values and role models a fair, responsible and risk-sensitive approach

Ensures diligent, risk-focussed standards of responsible practice

Acts fairly and in the interests of all internal and external stakeholders

Advises colleagues of good practice in own area of expertise to promote actions to mitigate and control risks

Shows a diligent focus on achieving sustainable results regardless of setbacks

Plans and executes agreed risk management projects to achieve continuous improvement

Builds robust plans to translate an ambitious agenda into deliverable outputs

Essential:

Excellent working knowledge of Excel

Excellent working knowledge of SQL & SAS

Strong quantitative analytical skills

Good working knowledge of impairment reporting under IFRS9

Excellent key stakeholder management skills

Demonstrates embedding of Risk Policies and Framework within the business

Makes appropriate risk/reward tradeoffs based on a good understanding of risks

Actively develops networks of internal/external contacts across risk discipline

Continually promotes a culture of ownership and accountability in Risk management

Recognised expert in Risk management

Strong understanding of the Regulatory implications

Has a clear understanding of the group strategy, including its origin/development and current/future state
