Communications Manager - Banking - 7 months - Halifax - £413/day

A top retail bank based in Halifax is currently seeking a Communications Manager to join a Mortgages programme for an initial 7 month period.

Overview of the Programme/Project

The Mortgage Value Stream is a part of Group Transformation within the bank. We are creating the best home-buying experience for our customers, who will be able to apply for their mortgage anywhere, anytime, using the channel of their choice. Shortening the time it takes customers to get a mortgage appointment and making sure they receive their mortgage offer, faster.

Around 700 people work within the Mortgage Value Stream in locations including; London, Halifax, Pendeford, Barnwood and Edinburgh. We also have offshore business partners.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

We are now looking for an experienced Communications Manager with experience mainly focused on change, to join our Mortgage Value Stream and support the delivery of our internal communications strategy and plan.
The successful candidate will report into the Mortgage Value Stream Senior PMO Lead as well as the Communications Lead. They will need to: Bring Mortgage Value Stream to life for colleagues and generate excitement and interest about what it means for customers and colleagues
Work closely with Senior PMO Lead to ensure that operational communications around the programme are coordinated and sent to the correct audience at the correct time
Support the Communications Lead, feeding into overall Value Stream communications plan to maintain a joined-up approach
Management of key stakeholders - keeping them regularly informed of comms progress against the plan
Understand key target audiences impacted by the Mortgage Value Stream and adapt plans to target and reach these audiences
Adhere to the bank's comms best practice, governance, brand guidelines
Ensure all communications are accurate, timely and signed off by the appropriate stakeholders - this includes participating in the relevant forums to optimise delivery of
agreed communications, management of content and conducting regular reviews of the effectiveness of any communications distributed

Excellent oral and written communication
Effective stakeholder engagement
Communications project planning and timely delivery
Analytical skills
Ability to work autonomously and as part of the wider comms team
Organisational awareness, and experience of working in a large, complex organisation

Desirable Skills and Experience

Finanical Services (Retail Banking specifically) experience is desirable
Knowledge of Mortgages would be an advantage
